On the creation of Harry Potter
The idea of Harry Potter was first sparked in the mind of J. K. Rowling when boarding a train from Manchester to London in 1990. At the time, she was recently divorced and take the initiative to make Harry Potter as inspiration his life. He spent time in the way it is by thinking about the plot of the story was complete. On her website, Rowling recounts it:

I have written almost without pause since the age of six but I had never before felt so alive will one idea. I just sat and thought, for four hours (waiting for a train delay), and all the minutiae popping up in my brain, and a skinny boy with black hair and glasses who does not realize that he was a wizard became more and more real to me .

In 1995, the first book titled Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (translated into Indonesian as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone) is completed and sent the manuscript to several agents. The second agent she tried, Christopher Little, offered to represent her and sent the manuscript to Bloomsbury. After eight other publishers rejected Philosopher's Stone, Bloomsbury offered £ 3,000 cash advance to publish it.
Although Rowling has stated that he does not have a specific target audience of the age when he started writing the Harry Potter books, the publishers at the outset has set a target audience between the ages of nine and eleven. On the night before publication, Joanne Rowling was asked by the publisher to use a pseudonym more gender-neutral, in order to attract young men in that age range, because they are worried that the boys would not be interested in reading a novel they knew to be written by a woman. He chose to use the name of J. K. Rowling (Joanne Kathleen Rowling), took her grandmother's name as the name of both, because he does not have a middle name.
The first Harry Potter book was published in Britain by Bloomsbury in July 1997. In United States the book was published by Scholastic in September 1998, in which Rowling received $ 105,000 for the rights to the United States - a value which is not unusual for a children's book authored by an unknown author (at the time). Worried that the readers in the U.S. do not understand the word "Philosoper" or not take it as a magical theme (because "Philosoper's Stone" or the philosopher's stone is a word in the field of alchemy), Scholastic insisted on changing the name of the book was to be Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone for the market America.
For nearly a decade, Harry Potter has been having great success, not only because of the positive reviews and marketing strategies Rowling's publishers, but also because of word of mouth conversations among his fans, particularly among teenage boys. Among teenage boys is important, because for many years among these increasingly interested in reading that is considered obsolete than video games and the Internet. Publisher Rowling managed to capture the excitement among male teenagers and immediately released the first four books in rapid succession, so that their enthusiasm had faded when Rowling did not intend to write the rest of the release of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix , and immediately formed a loyal group of readers. This series is also getting adult fans, with the publication of two editions of each Harry Potter book (in Canada and the United Kingdom, but not in the United States). Both have the exact same script, but with a different cover, for each issue of children and adults.

World of Harry Potter
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is the story of the world that exists in our world today, but also at the same time completely separate the magic. When compared, the magical fantasy story Narniadunia an alternate world, while the Lord of the Rings Earth-Tengahmerupakan world myths of the past. Harry Potter magic Environmental narrated in the midst of our world today, with the magical objects similar to the objects in the scope of the non-magical. The institutions and their locations were similar or even the same as in the real world, such as London. Environment magic at all can not be seen by the population of the non-magical (or Muggle, for example: The Dursleys).
Magic talent is a natural ability that has been there since birth, can not appear due to be studied. Things were repeated
Blood purity (Harry Potter):

  • The witches are generally looking Muggles with condescension and suspicion, the thing is, this attitude becomes bigotry for the small witch. Those fanatics pigeon hole themselves on the basis of many of their ancestors, in which the magician "pure-blood" (those whose family are all witches) is considered as the most high, witch "mixed-blood" (those who have children witches and Muggle) at the secondary level, and "Muggle-born" (those without offspring witch) as the lowest. Proponents believe blood purity that only those who are "pure-blood" who had the right to control the wizarding world, and do not assume that the wizards 'Muggle-born' as a real witch. Some of them even went so far as to kill the "Muggle-born" in order not to be able to learn magic. Most of these fanatics are pure-blood, though it should be noted that Voldemort, who supports this fanaticism, is in fact a mixed-blood wizards. In addition, only a few actually really witches pure-blood, because without marrying Muggle population, magicians over time will run out. However, many wizarding families covering that any of their family marrying the Muggle. One example of such a family is the Black famil
